The Mágochy Family
|
The Magoch clan or genus, dates itself back to the 14th century, to a Miklós
and Demeter. Very little information is documented on this family,
so extensive genealogies do not exist. A known strain of the genus
begins with a Márton Mágochy. Sometime in his life he took the name
Porkoláb and in documents he is referred to "Martinus Porkoláb de
Nagy Váth et Magoch". In 1514, two donations were made to Márton:
the towns of Harkány and Karány. Harkány is located in Baranya
megye, which is also where the family home-town of Mágocs is
located.
The family tree of Márton Porkoláb de Nagy-Váth és Mágoch is as
follows:

This family thus produced two sets of Mágochy nobility and three
coat of arms. The first was to Gáspár. You can find his information
here. The
second and third set of coat of arms were issued to Gáspár's
great-nephew, Ferencz.
