Chronological Timeline:
On 22 Dec 1771 in Loudoun County, Virginia, Thomas Owsley of Cameron Parish leased 50 acres of land to James Davis; the lease was for the term of the lives of the said James Davis and his son Francis Davis, with the yearly-rent of 4 pounds current money was due 10 Oct 1773, and to repeat yearly. The property was described as being in Cameron Parish in Loudoun County on the North side of Goose Creek; it adjoined land of George Chilton and the original lines of Green and Bronaugh. There was an agreement that James Davis would "plant on the said plantation 50 apple trees of good fruit and to keep the same under a good fence and in good repair and in case any of the said trees should die or get damag'd so as to render it useless to put another immediately in its place so as to always keep upon the said tenement the aforesaid quantity of 50 trees and to leave the same with the aforesaid tenement in good tenantable repair at the expiration of the term aforesaid." They both appeared in court and proved the deed on 9 Apr 1771.
NOTE: The dates the deed was created and proven in court conflict one another; how could it be proven in court ~8 months before it was created?
