*He was being educated in music in Alabama when he died. His probate records show his mother Sarah (Ross) Young sued the executor of the estate, Alexander Johnston, on 23 Jan 1823 in Maury County, Tennessee.

On 16 Jan 1795 in Davidson County, Tennessee, Robert Nelson sold 220 acres to Peter Young, as assignee of David Hay, for 100 pounds. The land was described as being in Davidson County on the waters of Big Harpeth, beginning at a gum and hickory 13 poles West of John Nelsons NE corner, thence North 160 poles to a white oak, East 220 poles to a stake, South 160 poles to a stake, West 220 poles to the beginning. The witnesses to the deed were Jos. Hamilton, William Porter and David Hay.

On 19 Aug 1797 in Davidson County, Tennessee, James Williams sold 200 acres and "a negro wench a slave for life named Filis about eleven years old" for $450, collectively. The land was described as being in Davidson County on both sides of Stone River, part of a tract that was granted to John Rice, Abraham Riston and Elisha Rice in Jun 1787 grant #294; "begining at an ash & elm the begining corner of the original survey thence South with the West boundary line of said survey 150 poles to a white ash, thence East 127 poles to a stake having crossed Stones River at 20 poles, thence North 150 poles to an elm in the North boundary line of said survey, thence West to the begining." The witnesses to these two deeds were Robert Kennedy and Peter Young.
On the same day, James Williams sold "negro boy a slave for life named Will - about fourteen years of age" to Robert Kennedy. The witnesses to the deed were Samuel Edmondson and Peter Young.

NOTE: The deed dated 17 Oct 1818 (described below) shows Peter Young selling the final 150 acres of land he possessed in Williamson County.
On 16 Aug 1804 in Davidson County, Tennessee, James Howell of Logan County, Kentucky sold 50 acres of land to Peter Young of Davidson County, Tennessee for 50 pounds. The land was described as being in Davidson County, Tennessee on the North side of Cumberland River, "begining at a hackberry and sugar tree on John Thomas's corner on Birdwell's South boundary running from thence South 56 poles to an ash on Stubbs? North boundary, thence East 143 poles to a stake, thence North 56 poles a stake on Birdwells line, thence with his line West to the begining." The witnesses were John Young, Moses Flener, John Young, Elijah Johnston, Edward Hay and James Byrne. The deed was proven on 11 May 1807 by Elijah Johnston and James Byrne.
NOTE: This document makes it fairly clear there is likely a familial connection between Peter Young and John Young "Senior" and John Young "Junior." James Howell is a documented neighbor, owning land adjoining to John Young "Senior," cited in land deeds described below.
The Moses Flener mentioned as a witness has a court record dated 16 Aug 1802 in Logan County, Kentucky allowing his 200 acre claim of land. This tract of land was neighboring John Young on Big Whippoorwill, including what was known as the "Gum Spring."

In a deed dated 16 Jan 1805 in Rutherford County, Tennessee, Peter Young's Northwest corner was used as a boundary marker in a land deed between Robert Nelson of Montgomery County and Farmer Winsett of Rutherford County.
On 22 Oct 1805 in Montgomery County, Tennessee, Edmond Gamble of Davidson County sold 222 acres of land to Peter Young of Williamson County for $100. The land was described as being in Montgomery County on the waters of Persons Creek, "beginning at a white oak on the old trace near Edmonsons Mill, running South 273 and 1/4 poles to a stake, then East 130 poles to a stake, then North 273 and 1/4 poles to Edmondsons line, then West 130 poles to the beginning." The witnesses to the deed were George Birdwell and James Gamble.
A little over two years later on 20 Dec 1807 in Montgomery County, Tennessee, Peter Young of Williamson County sold the same tract of land to John Rudolph Sr. for $200. The witnesses to the deed were J. Gowen and Jory Brown.

On 22 Jan 1806 in Davidson County, Tennessee, Peter Young of Williamson County sold 50 acres to Edmond Gamble of Davidson County for $100. The land was described as being on the North side of Cumberland River, adjacent to John Thomas and Birdwell. The witnesses to the deed were George Birdwell and William Lurry. The deed was proven during the April Session 1807 by George Birdwell.

On 2 Apr 1807 in Rutherford County, Tennessee, Jeremiah Winsett sold 70 acres to Peter Young for $250. The land was described as being in "Rutherford County on one of the head branches of Stewarts Creek."

On 29 Dec 1807 in Williamson County, Tennessee, Peter Young sold 55 acres to Amos Winsett for $165. The land was described as being in Williamson County on the waters of Nelsons Creek, "beginning at a hickory and black gum Peter Young's begining corner running North 40 poles to a red oak in a stake, thence East 220 poles to a hickory sapling, then South 40 poles to Robert Winsett's line, thence with the said line West to the begining." The witnesses to the deed were Felix Whaley and Robert Winsett.

On 21 Nov 1814 in Maury County, Tennessee, Nicholas Perkins sold 1,000 acres to Morgan FitzPatrick, Peter Young and Richard Russell for $1,000. The land was described as being on Globe Creek.
Morgan FitzPatrick and Peter Young relinquished their rights to 286.75 acres of this land on 27 Aug 1817 in Maury County, Tennessee. On the same day, Richard Russell and Peter Young sold 315 acres to Morgan FitzPatrick for $250. Again on the same day, Morgan FitzPatrick and Richard Russell sold 478.40 acres to Peter Young for $500.

The land was described as being in Williamson County on Nelsons Creek the waters of Harpeth River, including the improvement the said Young once sold to Daniel Potts; "beginning at a red oak Amos Winsetts NW corner, thence East with said Winsetts line 100 poles to 2 dogwoods David Jones beginning, thence N with said Jones' line 26 poles to a stake, thence 33 poles and a half to a stake, thence North 48 poles to 2 dogwoods, thence East 6 poles to a hackberry corner, thence North 160 poles to Pastures line, thence West with said Pastures line 70 poles to a stake, thence South 282 poles to the beginning." The witnesses to the deed were Silas Winsett, Daniel Potts and Allen H. Young.
