The early tax lists for Logan County, Kentucky reflect that Lydia Young's husband may have been William Young. William Young last appears in 1800, the year after Lydia's first claimed 200 acres of land in her own name. At some point prior to 1807, Lydia Young appears to have transferred a land claim to James Young.

NOTE: This claim shows that Lydia Young was a neighbor to not only Lazarus Powell, but also Thomas & James Neely and Susannah Flenery. Susannah Flenery is of particular interest, as she may related to the Moses Flener who neighbors John Young (2).

NOTE: There are no deeds filed within Logan County, Kentucky reflecting any transfer of property from Lydia Young to James Young. This likely reflects the 200 acres of land that was surveyed on 30 Apr 1805, in which James Young was listed as the "director."
On 1 Jun 1808 in Logan County, Kentucky, Lydia Young had a survey completed for 400 acres of land for certificate #1665. The land was described as "lying in the Georgia settlement, beginning at 2 black jacks most Southwardly corner to Burgess Phelps Senr settlement rights running with his SE boundary line N 50 E 46 poles to Andersons corner hickory post oak and black oak, thence S 50 E 70 poles to the West boundary line of said Andersons 100 acre survey which includes his former mill now called Lockharts Mill, thence with that line S14 W126 1/2 poles to his SW corner black jack, thence with James Andersons line S 70 W passing his NW corner at 100 poles in all 176 poles to a stake in the corner, thence N20 W 192 poles to a stake, thence N 80 E 100 poles to a post oak most Southwardly corner to said Phelps additional claim, thence with that line N 50 E 72 poles to said Phelps SW boundary line of said settlement right, thence on that line S 37 E 30 poles to the beginning." The chain-carriers for the survey were Burges Phelps Snr. and Burgess Phelps Jnr.
NOTE: The mention of Lydia Young's land being within the "Georgia Settlement" strongly indicates this Young family may have migrated to Kentucky from Georgia. Hiram Howell's wife, Rachael Young, was supposedly born in Georgia, according to census records.
