A newspaper article was published on 18 Oct 1881 in the Inter Ocean of Chicago. The city directories state Peter was a cabinetmaker/carpenter, however, this newspaper article states he was working as a baker - likely with Hubert-Hobert Weber.
"By Accident; Peter Felton, a baker, while drunk Sunday evening fell over a railing at the corner of Noble and Cornelia streets and received a wound about four inches long on the right temple. He was attended by Dr. Bowman and removed to his home, No. 446 Milwaukee avenue."
The Chicago city directories show several Weber men residing at 446 Milwaukee av., and they had clearly lived with Peter Felton for some time at this address. One individual of note that must be mentioned is the baker, Hubert-Hobert Weber. The 1900 federal census shows Hobert Weber (64, baker) and wife Katharine (63) as owning 446 Milwaukee Av, and living with sons Herman (34, coremaker), Wilhelm (20, "sick") and John D. (30, book binder).

NOTE: Hubert Weber later died on 20 Jan 1918 at 1208 W. Erie St. and was listed as a widowed, retired baker. He was born on 21 Jun 1835 in Germany to unknown parents and was buried on 23 Jan 1918 in St. Boniface Cemetery.
On 19 Jan 1884 in First St. John Lutheran Church in Chicago, Joachim Bartels and Johanna Vierow's child "Elise Caroline Elfrieda Bertha" was baptized. She was born on 20 Dec 1883. The sponsors were Louis Schmidt, Carl Spierling, Elfriede Gäde and Bertha Vierow.
Five months later, on 23 Jun 1883, "Elise Bartels" died in Chicago from a lung disease [lungenkrankheit]. She was born on 20 Dec 1883 and was the daughter of Joachim Bartels and Johanna Virow.
It's clear that Joseph Bartels likely died sometime between 1883 (when Elsie was born) and 1889, however, a death certificate cannot be located. The city directories for Chicago, Illinois show Anna as a widow in 1889:
1889 Annie Bartle wid. Joseph r 142 Cornelia
NOTE: All records for the children of Joseph Bartels and Anna Vierow state their father's given name was Joseph.
The city directories for Chicago, Illinois show Peter Felton, and later the widowed Anna, from 1892 to 1899:
1892 Peter Felton carpenter 430 Bristol
1893 Peter Felton cabinetmkr 432 Bristol
1894 Peter Felton carp. 432 Bristol
1895 Peter Felton carp. 4556 Princeton av
1896 Peter G. Felden carp. 4526 Princeton av
1898/99 Mrs. Annie Felten 237 W 43rd
On 17 Jan 1891 in St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chicago, Joseph Barthels and Anna Vierow's child "Elise Henrietta Wilhelmine Thekla" was baptized. She was born on 24 Jul 1890. The sponsors were Nicholas Kühner, Wilhelmine Kuehner and Henrietta Ribbe.
NOTE: "Anne Bartle" appears as the widow of Joseph in the 1889 city directory for Chicago - was Elsie an illegitimate child? It's also interesting how Elsie was baptized almost six months after she was born - that's odd, considering the baptismal records of her other siblings.
Three months later, on 18 Apr 1891 in Chicago, Illinois, Peter Felden and Mrs. Annie Bartells were issued marriage license #166240. Within the microfilm reel containing the returns is a slip stating "166240 Lic. not returned."
The German-language newspaper Abendpost of Chicago, Illinois, published an article on 20 Apr 1891 of marriage licenses issued, including "Peter Felden" and "Annie Bartels".
The 1892 Chicago voter registration shows Peter Felten residing at 430 Bristol St. He stated he was born in Germany and had been a resident of the precinct for one year, and the county and state for the past 10 years. He was naturalized, however, the details were unknown.
On 14 Feb 1892 in St. George's Catholic Church in Chicago, Petrus Felden and Anna Vierow's child Petrus was baptized. He was born on 31 Jan 1892 and they were residents of Bristol Str. The sponsors were Petrus Kestel and Cath. Weber.
NOTE: The sponsor Cath. Weber is likely Catharine-Katharine, wife of baker Hubert-Hobert Weber, mentioned above.

On 4 Feb 1895 in St. George's Catholic Church in Chicago, Petrus Feldton and Maria Vierow's child Joannes was baptized. He was born on 22 Dec 1894. The sponsors were Joannes Weidenbach and Gert. Huntziger.

The 1900 federal census has the family enumerated on 8 Jun 1900 in the Town of Lake in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. They were residing at 237 W. 43rd Street and were renting their home. The census stated Anna had a total of 12 children and 8 of them were alive when the census was taken; she also claimed to have immigrated in 1885. The household consisted of the following:

On 16 Dec 1910 at St. Bernard's Hospital in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, the widowed Anna Felton passed away from "appendicitis & peritonitis." The death certificate states she was buried on 19 Dec 1910 in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Chicago. It further states she was the daughter of "Wm. Veareu." The informant was her daughter Elsie Bartel of 155 W 43rd St.
I visited Mt. Olivet Cemetery many years ago and inquired within their office regarding the plot Anna was buried in. It appears Anna was not buried with any other family members. She has no marker or gravestone.
An obituary was published in the Chicago Daily News of Chicago, Illinois, on 17 Dec 1910:
"FELTON-Anna, beloved mother of Elsie, Peter, John, Frank, Mrs. Emma Burke, Mrs. Lillie Corcoran and Mrs. Hattie Frawley. Funeral Monday, Dec. 19, 9a.m., from her late residence, 155 W. 43d-st., to St. Cecelia's church, where high mass will be celebrated thence to Mount Olivet by train from 47th-st. depot."
A delayed birth certificate was filed on 25 Jun 1951 for the birth of John E. Felton on 22 Dec 1894 in Chicago, Illinois. The sources that were provided were his baptismal record from St. George's church, as well as an affidavit from his sister Emma Carnahan. The actual certificate states his parents were both born in Berlin, Germany.
