In 1791, the Lower College Baptist Church was organized in King William County, Virginia, with many indigenous couples amongst the organizers. A list of "free coloured members names" was recorded, reflecting the local mixed population of the Mattaponi and Pamunkey tribes.

An 1833 list of "free negroes and mulattoes" in St. John's Parish of King William County, Virginia, shows Agnes Custiloe living with her two children Jack and Caroline, as well as their own children. This is the last known record of Agnes. This family is listed amongst other members of the Mattaponi tribe.
