On 1 Jun 1750, Henry Siller received a land grant for 191 acres in Augusta County, Virginia. The land was described as being "on the North side of Shanando River; beginning at three walnuts growing out of one root on the River side above the land of Philip Long whereon John Rogers now lives and running thence North 65 degrees West crossing a branch 114 poles to a pine and hickory on the point of a hill, thence South 30 degrees West crossing the aforesaid branch 168 poles to three white oaks, thence South 75 degrees West 115 poles to two pines, thence South 25 degrees East 91 poles to a pine, thence South 50 degrees West 52 poles to two pines, thence South 30 degrees East crossing a branch 76 poles to a lynn tree on the river, thence down the several courses of the same to the beginning."

On 22 Mar 1768 in Augusta County, Virginia, on the petition of Andrew Tompson plaintiff against John Rodgers defendant, "the defendant being summoned and being called and not appearing the plaintiff by his attorney produced his note of hand for 2 pounds 10 shillings. Judgment is therefore granted the plaintiff against the said defendant for the same and costs and the defendant in mercy. Costs 93 Tob[acc]o & 7/6."

On 20 Mar 1770 in Augusta County, Virginia, Joseph & wife Elizabeth Poindexter sold 143 acres of land to Thomas Rodgers for 50 pounds current Virginia money. The land was described as "beginning at a walnut sycamore and gum on the North side of Shanandoa River on John Patricks lines and with the same South 78 W 67 poles to a white oak corner to Poindexters land, and with his line N 20 W 244 poles to some marked grubs, and thence S 65 E 158 poles with Thomas Turks line to the said river, and thence up the river 160 poles to the beginning." The witnesses to the deed were John Rodgers, James Kennerly Junr. and Saml. Woods. Joseph & wife Elizabeth Poindexter swore oath and proved the deed in court on the same day.
On the same day and place, George & wife Mary Martin sold 100 acres of land to James Rodgers for 50 pounds current Virginia money. The land was described as being in Augusta County "on the North West Side of the South River of Shanando; beginning at a pine on the river bank below Christian Clemons land and running thence down the several courses of the river 140 poles to a hickory on the river, thence North West 176 poles to two pines, South West 120 poles to a pine, South 50 East 138 poles to a white oak sapling, South 75 East 138 poles to the beginning." The witnesses to this release were John Rodgers, Alexander Campbell and James Rodgers. George & wife Mary Martin gave oaths proving the release in court on the same day.
NOTE: Both James Rodgers and Thomas Rodgers purchased property on 20 Mar 1770, with John Rodgers witnessing both deeds. Are they brothers?

On 23 Aug 1771 in Augusta County, Virginia, William & wife Mary Willson of Albemarle County sold lot #14 in the Town of Staunton to John Redpath [Ridpath] for 14 pounds current Virginia money. The witnesses were John Rodgers, James Brown, Mathew Morhead and James Culbertson. The deed was proven by oath on 18 Mar 1772 by William Wilson.

On 10 Nov 1773 in Botetourt County, Virginia, regarding the debt case of Christopher Graham plaintiff against John Rodgers defendant, "Richard Mazes special bail and judgement confessed for 10 pounds but this judgement may be discharged by the payment of 5 pounds with interest thereon from the first day of May 1773 till paid and cost."
On the same day and place, "the petition and summons of Wm. Bowyer against John Rodgers the defendant confesses judgement for 1 pounds 12 shillings and costs."

Jane Davis vs. Rogers et als .- O. S. 56; N. S. 19. Jane is daughter of Archibald Clendennin who was killed by Indians in Greenbrier in 1763 with all his children except oratrix. Before his death he purchased the settlement right of George Leo. Archibald's widow Ann married John Rogers. Jane is widow of - Davis. They were married before 25th March, 1775. John Rogers had sons Archibald and James Rodgers. Davis died in 1800. Bill filed July, 1803. John Rogers says he married widow of Archibald Clendennin in 1767. In 1772 he moved to Greenbrier. Davis and Jane married in 1774. Jas. Huston deposes he was brother-in-law to George Wilson, who claimed the tract before Clendennin. Donelly was also brother-in-law to Geo. Wilson. George Lee deposes, 1803, in Hardy County that in 1762 he held a settlement right to the land sold to George Wilson. Andrew Donnelly, Sr., deposes in Kenawha 1805. James Burnsides, Sr., deposes in Monroe County 1804. Clendennin was killed in 15th July, 1763. John Ewing of Gallia County, Ohio, deposes. Jane was married after Archibald's mother. She was born January or February, 1758. On 15th July, 1763, Jane and deponent (John Ewing) were taken prisoner by Indians and carried away. They were kept in the same nation, but not together, except on their journey to Pittsburg, where they were liberated 14th May, 1765. John Ewing was 16 years old when he was taken prisoner.

Rinker vs. Rinker-O. S. 89; N. S. 30-Bill, 29th March, 1805. Orator is Jacob Rinker, son and executor of Casper Rinker of Frederick County. Casper died 17th February, 1804. Widow Mary answers (6th July, 1806) that she and her husband settled near Winchester 49 years ago. Casper Rinker's will dated 22d April, 1802, of Frederick County. Wife, Mary; son, Jacob; daughter Mary, wife of John Rodgers; daughter Elizabeth, wife of Jacob Allemong; daughter Catherine, wife of William Chenowith; grandson, Casper Rinker; granddaughter, Catherine Allemong, now wife of Andw. Hieronimus; grandson Casper Rinker and Ephraim Rinker, son of Jacob Rinker of Shenandoah County. Proved in Frederick, 3d April, 1804.
