On 22 May 1760 in Augusta County, Virginia, regarding the case of James Rogers plaintiff against Hugh Donaho defendant, the court ordered "this being abated by the death of the plaintif is dismissed."

On 21 Aug 1760 in Augusta County, Virginia, the court recorded that "on the motion of Ann Rodgers who made oath according to law certificate is granted her for obtaining letters of administration of the estate of her deceased husband James Rodgers deceased she having with security entered into and acknowledged the bond according to law."
Ann Rogers, William McKendless and Walter Smiley paid bond of 500 pounds. The obligation of the bond was that the said Ann Rogers act as "administratrix of all the goods chattles & credits of James Rogers deceased."
The court further "ordered that William Moore, David Moore, Thomas Beard and James Akins or any three of them being first sworn do appraise the personal estate and slaves if any of James Rodgers deceased and return the appraisment to the next court."

On 28 Sep 1760 in Augusta County, Virginia, the court appointed William Moore, James Eakin and David Moore created an appraisal of the estate of James Rogers deceased. The inventory or appraisement of the estate of James Rogers deceased was returned to court on 17 Feb 1761.
