On 30 May 1753 in Prince William County, Virginia, the court fined both William Page and Davis Holder for being summoned and failing to appear in regards to the complaint of The King against Mximilian Berryman. The court fined each of them 20 shillings for their contempt, they were ordered to give a security of 100 pounds for their good behavior and to remain in the custody of the sheriff until they complied with the order.

On 25 Sep 1777 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, the court appointed Mark Hardin as "Surveyor of the road from Davis Holders to the Licks, and it is ordered that he with the male labouring tithable persons belonging to Reuben Payne, Allen Adams, Crispin Shelton at his banister quarter, Robert Martin, William Jones, John Martin, Joseph Prevet? and Joseph Medcalf do forthwith clear and keep the said road in repair according to law."

On 6 Oct 1784 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, Davis Holder wrote his last will and testament; he bequeathed the following:
"appoint my loving wife Susanna and my son Daniel Holder to be my executors"
"desire that all my due debts to be paid my body to buryed in a decent form in such place as my executors shall think fit"
"my son William one shilling Sterling"
"my son Davis one shilling Sterling"
"my son John one shilling Sterling"
"my son Benjamin one shilling Sterling"
"my son Daniel one shilling Sterling"
"my daughter Hannah one shilling Sterling"
"my daughter Elizabeth one shilling Sterling"
"I give all the rest of my estate both real and personable unto my loving wife Susanna during her life, and after her death I give the land and plantation unto my son Daniel and the moveable estate to my daughter Elizabeth and my granddaughter Levina Holder Spradling to be equally divided between them."
The witnesses to the will were Mark Hardin and William Wright. On 21 Feb 1785, during court held in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, Susanna Holder executrix and Daniel Holder executor proved the last will and testament of Davis Holder with the oaths of the witnesses, William Wright and Mark Harden.
