Research Background:
According to Francies Daniels, "he is James Rodgers the 4th. James the 2nd was supposedly the head of the Prebyterian Church in Ulster, Ireland. James the 1st emigrated Scotland in 1644 to Ireland because of religious persecution. James Rodgers migrated to the Pennsylvania Colony alone, in 1718 probably from Tyrone County, Ireland leaving behind his parents. He migrated many years through the New England Colonies, and sometime during his travels, married Mary McPherson. In 1729 he and his wife went to MA colony to family, probably a brother John Rodgers, who lived there. He then traveled with wife to Alleghany Co., PA and from there they went to the Shenandoah Valley (Augusta County) of VA. James and Mary possibly had several children, one of which is James V (we know him as James "Sr" [James Rodgers & Margaret NN]). James ended up in Augusta County, Virginia where he died in 1760. I’m not sure if Mary was alive when James migrated to Virginia, but she passed away before 1760 and James was wed to Ann Simm."
**ALL of this data needs to be heavily proven and sourced. There is no evidence to support this theory. I'm only providing this information as a reference to past research, which may indicate where much of the erroneous information has come from across the internet.
Francies Daniels (1941-2012), born Francies Hughes, was a descendant of Hays Rodgers & Mary A. Scott through their daughter Susannah Rodgers (m. Elijah Jackson Chatham).
